sharp rain struck down in curves of braille
on plump trees—smooth spatters faded in the pulse
of our ears as shivers blew down my nape.
a million seconds came in waves, coiled
like a slug. the coast of your lips pulled
me in and on the surface, i sank.
across my body
a thousand humid mosquitoes
cough up lilac blood,
desiccating—
coarse limbs fall
to a dim shell
as fat tendrils of breath
coil and exfoliate.
jealous,
i smack them unborn.
sharp rain struck down in curves of braille
on plump trees—smooth spatters faded in the pulse
of our ears as shivers blew down my nape.
a million seconds came in waves, coiled
like a slug. the coast of your lips pulled
me in and on the surface, i sank.
